UFC:The Ultimate Fighter

The Ultimate fighter is a television show on Spike network. It is a MMA competition to see who will become the nextUFC fighter. On the show, professional MMA fighters coach no-name fighters, and have head to head competitions. Whoever wins the challenge, will recieve a contract with the UFC.

In the first four seasons of The Ultimate Fighter, chosen UFC fighters were divided into two weight classes. The fighters were also divided into two teams. Each team was coached by a current UFC headliner. The matches would be based on who each coach thought was a fair fight. The loser then got eliminated from the show.

At the end of a season, the two remaining fighters of each weight class are placed in a single-elimination tournament, where the title of Ultimate Fighter is awarded to the winner. From season five to season seven, all fighters competed in the same weight class.

There have been ten season of The Ultimate Fighter, including this years season. There have aslo been winners from each season. The winners include: Diego Sanchez, Forrest Griffin, Joe Stevenson, Rashad Evans, Kendall Grove, Michael Bisping, Matt Sera, Travis Lutter,Nathan Diaz, Mac Danzig, Amir Sadollah, Efrain Escudero, Ryan Bader, Ross Pearson, and James Wilks.

Norwood's Opening Home Game

Norwood plays Wyoming Friday, September 11. It is Norwood's first home game. Norwood is 1-1 after a tough loss over Purcell. Wyoming is 2-0, after defeating CHCA and Oakwoods. Kyle Seyfried, Wyoming's quaterback, is ranked number one in the Cincinnati Hills Leauge for passing yards. He has passed for 573 yards so far. Chet Williams, Norwood's quarterback, is ranked number five in the FAVC. He has passed for 189 yards so far. As you can tell, Wyoming is a tough team to beat. But Norwood has shown great potentiol to win games. Norwood blew right over Campbell County. The Purcell game was a close game. I think that Norwood could and will beat Wyoming. Wyoming has a lot of weapons on offense and deffense. For an example, Wyoming's defensive end, Jibreel Black, is ranked 20 in the nation. He is just one of the many weapons that Wyoming has. Norwood also has weapons. Chett Williams, Jeremey Scott, Matt Wallace, Andy Wilmes, Coty Zingale, Lee Young, etc. It will be an exciting game, so get off your couches and come down to Shea Stadium at 7:30!

The History of the Purcell Norwood rivalry

A sports rivalry is an intense competition between athletic teams or athletes. Just so be it, Purcell and Norwood have been rivalries since 1973. Every time these two teams battle each other, in any sport, it's never a disappointment to watch. It's always intense and exciting. If you have never been to a Norwood vs Purcell game, come check out the action this Friday at St. Xavier Stadium 7:30 p.m. where the Norwood Indians and The Purcell Cavaliers will play football. The history behind the rivalry is all about bragging rights and The Mayor's Trophy. Whoever wins the game, gets the privilege to take home The Mayor's Trophy dating every win and loss between the two schools. Norwood defeated Purcell last year to a score of nineteen to thirteen. Hopefully Norwood can pull out another exciting win and be able to have The Mayor's Trophy in the Norwood High School.
