Number one seed, Kansas, lost to Northen Iowa, number nine seed. Kansas was favored to win the entire tournament. Just about everyone in America agreed and expected for Kansas to win the whole thing. They defeated LeHigh in the first round and were on a roll.

Everyone's bracket was messed up due to the Kansas loss. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had Kansas going all the way to the National Championship, along with Kentucky. I had Kentucky winning, so I wasn't that upset, but it did mess up my bracket big time!

This year's tournament has had so many upsets so I wasn't that shocked when I saw that Kansas had lost. They played ex UC coach, Bob Huggins' team, West Virginia only to be sadly defeated within the last couple seconds of regulary. West Virginia lead most of the game until the last ten minutes.

UC came back and changed the momentum of the game. Cincinati fans were excited and hopeful for a win as the game was winding down to the final second. It was tied 51-51 with 6 seconds only to turn the ball over. West Virginia then had possesion with 3 seconds left. The ball was thrown in bounds and Butler threw up a 3 pointer with close to one second left. The crowd went silent. The ball banked off the backboard and went in.

UC played a tough game and proved to everyone that they can compete with top name teams and hopefully they will learn from their mistakes and improve as a team for next seasons and more to come.

Bengals 10-11 Scouting

The Cincinnati Bengals are in a lot of need for good players to help them out for thier upcoming season. It will kick off tonight on live television! This will be the 3rd Winter Olypics being hosted by Canada. The total cost of this athletic festival is close to 6 million dollars! About $600 million will go directly to the sports.

The Olympics first originated in Greece. The winners didn't earn a gold, silver, or bronze metal. Instead, they earned an Olive Wreath, which was an olive brach that symbolized peace. Also, the only sport that used to be in the Olympics were only racing. Now there's all kinds of sports ranging from snowboarding to basketball to boxing to bobsledding.

So if you're not doing anything tonight, tune into the Winter Olympics!

GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super Bowl 44

Super Bowl 44 is this Sunday, February 7. The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints are going to competing in the year's Super Bowl. It should be an offensive shoot out. Both teams can score whenever needed to and can also play very well defense. I personaly wouldn't mind seeing the Saints win just because this is their first Super Bowl apperace ever. But on the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing the Colts win because I like Payton Manning and he is one of the hardest working quarter backs in the NFL today and maybe possibly ever!

The half time show will feature The Who, an older rock band from the 1960's, 1964 to be exact. With two of the argueably better teams in the NFL today, the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints, are two weeks away to battle it out for the title. The two teams fought to get where they are and I believe they both deserve it.

The Indianapolis Colts have always been a good team. They always have a winning season and they hardly ever don't make the playoffs. They have one of the best quarter backs of all time and some of the better recievers. The only thing they are lacking is a running game but they are good enough on passing and defense that it really doesn't effect them.

On the other hand, the New Orleans Saints have never ever been to a Super Bowl. With the disaster of the homeland with the Hurricane Katrina, many would say that they deserve it the most. Also they have never really been that good. They never hardly make it to the playoffs. Drew Brees has made a huge impact and has lead the team to where they are.

I hope it turn out to be a good game to wacth!

Is Brian Kelly for real?

Brian Kelly has been the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats football team for the past two years. He brought the team to two consecutive national championship bowls. In 2007, he led his team to the PapaJohn.com bowl and they won against Southern Miss.

Ever since Kelly took the head coach position, the Bearcats have been ranked in the top 25. In 2008, he led the Bearcats to their first Big East title win. He was named Big East Head Coach of the year. They ended up going to the Orange Bowl against Virginia Tech but lost.

Rumors have been going around about him going to Notre Dame to coach. He told the media that he will not leave Cincinnati. He would be making 9 million a year if he took the job at Notre Dame. It would be a sad loss because before Kelly was head coach, the Bearcats sucked.

The Bearcats finished the season with a record of 12-0. They are ranked number 3. They would have had a shot to make it to the National Championship if Nebraska would of beat Texas. But they lost. They only lost with one second left in the game. This year they are playing against Florida in the Sugar Bowl.

So hopefully Kelly will stay at Cincinnati and coach another year and hopefully for more years. I don't know who would be able to replace him and do just as good.

UC climbing up the ladder!

The Cincinnat Bearcat's are doing good this year with football and basketball. The Bearcats are ranked number five in the NCAA football rankings. They are 11-0, knocking off top rank teams throughout the season. They have surprised everyone in the city of Cincinnati by going undefeated. Their new coach has a lot to do with their success. This is his second year as the head coach for the Cincinnati Bearcats. They play Pittsburgh Saturday for their last season game. Hopefully they can beat them and finish the regular season without a loss.

UC Basketball is also doing good so far. They are 5-1 and are ranked 22 in the NCAA rankingss. They defeated Prairie View, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Maryland, and Texas Southern so far this season which made them go to the top 25 teams. They play Miami, Oh next Thursday.

This is a good year for Cincinnati for sports. Larry Johnson got cut from the Chiefs for using a disrepectful term towards the head coach. Larry Johnson broke records in Kansas City for most rushing yards in one season. He has great potentiol for being a great running back and a great help to the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson turned thirty today.

With Cedric Benson hurt, it will give Johnson some playing time and opportunities to run the ball. Although he is set to be fourth string, you should expect to see him trade carries with Benson.

Johnson also used to play the Oakland Raiders twice every year and we are playing them this Sunday at four. It is going to be one of the best games so far this season. The Colts stand at 8-0 while the Patriots stand at 6-2. Either of these teams could win. These two football teams are considered to be two of THE best football teams ever in the NFL. It will for sure be an exciting game to watch.

The game will be at Indianapolis, so that is one advantage for the Colts. Both teams have so many weapons on offense and defense. Last year, the Patriots lost to the colts 18 to 15. Peyton Manning amd Tom Brady are two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL today and probably forever. They both have strong arms, good vision, and are experienced. Also, both teams have good wide recievers too. The Colts have Reggie Wayne and the Patriots have Randy Moss, also two of the best wide recievers in the game today. It's not all about offense though. Both teams have future hall of famers playing defense right now. The Colts have Bob Sanders, and Dwight Freeny. The Patriots also have good defensive players. They are Brandon Meriweather, and Pierre Woods.

It is going to be a really enjoyable game to watch. If you aren't a really big football fan, watch the game on Sunday night and i guarantee you would enjoy it. It's two of the best teams going head to head. It has been forever since they have been ranked. They are ranked number 5 right now. That is really good especially when they weren't very good last year. They have a new coach and he is turing the program around for the better. The Bearcats have beaten really big teams that are higher ranked then they are. It seems like every game, they get better and better. I'm glad that they are doing good because if the Bengals start doing bad, then i have another team to fall back on and cheer for. It's amazing that they have been playing so well this season. I can bet that noone would of thought that they would be in the top ten rankings. Hopefully they can keep their winning streak alive and get ranked all the way to number one!!!!

Bengals coming off their by week

The Cincinnati Bengals are 5-2, beating the Chicago Bears 45 to 10. The Bengals are doing really good so far this season. Nobody expected them to be 5-2. I believe that they should be 7-0, if it wasn't for the Denver Broncos. The Bengals are finally getting their act together. It has been forever sinct the Bengals have been in the lead in their division. They play the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday. Hopefully they can beat them like last time. The Ravens won their last game so it gives us a better chance to win. I think so because if they had lost, they would be madder and play better to try and beat us. I think that we are a better team. We just gotta play good offense and defense like we did against The Bears. Carson Palmer has the ability to make plays happen. If we win Sunday, it will be huge. I really want to see us go to the playoffs this year. I think that we deserve it. The schedule ahead of us is somewhat easy but then again, it's the Bengals. They aren't very consistent with winning. They aren't used to winning and i don't know if they can keep the winning streak going. I'm just crossing my fingers for us to keep winning games and to make it all the way to the Super Bowl!!!!

Angels and Yankees

The LA Angels played the New York Yankees last night. The Yankees only had to win one more game and they would be in the World Series. The Angels came up with a 7-6 comeback victory that resulted in the Yankee's 3-2.

"Anything is possible, man," Angels outfielder Torii Hunter said. "Baseball is a crazy game, man. You see some crazy things. There has been some talk about the weather being nasty and the possibility of a huge rainstorm.

Everyone is tired of seeing the New York Yankees go to the World Series, unless you are a Yankees fan. The Cincinnati Bengals are back and better than ever! Their record currently stands at an amazing 4-1.

People all over the Country people are calling the Bengals the "Cardiac Cats" because every game always comes down to the last possession and we end up winning. Carson Palmer always seems to push the ball down the field with under a minute and throw a touch down pass.

Cedric Benson is the number one running back in the entire leauge for rushing yards. He currently has 487 yards, beating Adrian Peterson by a few yards. Also, Chad Ochocinco is stepping his game up and is making huge plays for the Cincinnati Bengals. He has 352 yards so far this season.

A couple other players that are doing good are Andre Caldwell, Chris Henry, Johnathan Joseph and Antwan Odom to name a few. Antwan has 8 sacks right now. The defense is really picking up this year and it has kept us in games. I believe that we should be 5-0 if it wasn't for that last secong interception against the Broncos.

The Bengals are playing like a playoff team right now and it is awesome. I can't wait to see them face off against the Houston Texans. I'm going to be at Paul Brown Stadium to witness it live!

Homecoming Football Game

This year's Homecoming matcup is against the Mt. Healthy Owls. Norwood is at a record of 2-4. Mt. Healthy's record is 3-3. The game could go either way. Hopefully the Indians can pull through and have another win to go with thrie record.

Mt. Healthy has a productive defense as well as a hard working offense. A majority of the defensive players play aggressive, and tend to go for sacks and interceptions very often. So far this year, the Owls have had seven intetrceptions following eleven sacks.

Mt. Healthy also has a quick offense. They rely on their quickness and defense to win games. Some of their star players consume of Mark Cornist, Devin Brown, Logan Perdue, Denzel Larkin, Allen Carter III, and more.

The Norwood Indians are showing great potential to beat Mt. They are ranked foutrh in their division. They haven't had a winning season in what it feels like forever. The last time the Reds went to the playoffs was in 1995. Although, we did manage to win five world series. The dates we've won are 1919,1940,1975,1976, and 1990.

We haven't done good since. The Cincinnati Reds have had some great players through out the years. Some of them are Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Ken Griffey Jr, Frank Robinson, and Johnny Bench. Too bad they couldn't have winning seasons or a world series trophy sitting on their mantles at home.

More than most sports, baseball thrives on tradition. Nowhere does baseball tradition run more deeply or more passionately than it does in Cincinnati. The Queen City gave birth to the first openly professional baseball team four years after the Civil War, and the town has been represented by a team every year since 1881.

The Cincinnati Red Stockings became baseball's first professional team in 1869. They began with a 45-9 thumping of a team called the Great Western of Cincinnati, then proceeded to win nearly every one of its more than seventy games against overmatched amateur teams in the Midwest. They finally lost a game in 1870, when the Brooklyn Atlantics bested them 8-7 in extra innings.
It was a 19th Century no-brainer that the Red Stockings would be a charter member of the National League in 1876. However, Cincinnati's start in the League was rocky to say the least.

The Red Stockings didn't fare as well as their 1869 predecessors, finishing 9-54. After four seasons, Cincinnati was kicked out of the National League for playing baseball games on Sunday and for selling beer during games. Both were National League no-no's at the time.

UFC:The Ultimate Fighter

The Ultimate fighter is a television show on Spike network. Here are the wins: Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, New England Patriots, and the San Diego Chargers.

There were a lot of injuries during week one, including Brian Urlacher, Donavon Mcnabb, Troy Palumaluo, etc. Tom Brady returned from his injury last year and is playing very strong.

I am excited for week two!

Norwood's Opening Home Game

Norwood plays Wyoming Friday, September 11. It is Norwood's first home game. Norwood is 1-1 after a tough loss over Purcell. Wyoming is 2-0, after defeating CHCA and Oakwoods. Kyle Seyfried, Wyoming's quaterback, is ranked number one in the Cincinnati Hills Leauge for passing yards. He has passed for 573 yards so far. Chet Williams, Norwood's quarterback, is ranked number five in the FAVC. He has passed for 189 yards so far. As you can tell, Wyoming is a tough team to beat. But Norwood has shown great potentiol to win games. Norwood blew right over Campbell County. The Purcell game was a close game. I think that Norwood could and will beat Wyoming. Wyoming has a lot of weapons on offense and deffense. For an example, Wyoming's defensive end, Jibreel Black, is ranked 20 in the nation. He is just one of the many weapons that Wyoming has. Norwood also has weapons. Chett Williams, Jeremey Scott, Matt Wallace, Andy Wilmes, Coty Zingale, Lee Young, etc. It will be an exciting game, so get off your couches and come down to Shea Stadium at 7:30!

The History of the Purcell Norwood rivalry

A sports rivalry is an intense competition between athletic teams or athletes. Just so be it, Purcell and Norwood have been rivalries since 1973. Every time these two teams battle each other, in any sport, it's never a disappointment to watch. It's always intense and exciting. If you have never been to a Norwood vs Purcell game, come check out the action this Friday at St. Xavier Stadium 7:30 p.m. where the Norwood Indians and The Purcell Cavaliers will play football. The history behind the rivalry is all about bragging rights and The Mayor's Trophy. Whoever wins the game, gets the privilege to take home The Mayor's Trophy dating every win and loss between the two schools. Norwood defeated Purcell last year to a score of nineteen to thirteen. Hopefully Norwood can pull out another exciting win and be able to have The Mayor's Trophy in the Norwood High School.

Who-Dey!

The Cincinnati Bengals are looking good for their 09-10 season!
